Okay, I am starting to get fed up with the fuel-control situation on the JRSC. For those who don't know I have 8psi and RC 270cc Injectors and have been fighting fuel for awhile now. With the weather in KC, fluctuating like it does, I always seem to have either too much or too little, and then I screw around with the riser. I want to get the Shogun and play with it, hopefully I could remove the utterly goofy relay-resistor combo that has plagued many people. So here's the deal, who knows where to get the best price??? I know Summit has them for $495, and I know big chain stores can get them, but does anyone know someone with a deal? Maybe we could set up a group buy. I know Will and MrBurns have them on their cars, and seem to have had pretty good luck with them. Will, would your guy be willing to orchestrate a group buy on them??? (Yes, lundgren, we would set it up on your page
) Let me know what you guys think and maybe we could get something going. I like the idea of adjusting fuel and timing on the one box. Timing adjustment, while not the ideal setup, would still be okay with RPM based settings, since most of the time RPM is directly tied to Boost (yes , Raffe, I know this isn't always the case). Hopefully this would give us the ability to fine tune the fuel curve and get rid of that sluggish idle, while richening up the mid and top end for a little added protection. What does everyone think???

Vtecno- What about the APEX-I super AFC? It is way cheaper and even though I don't know anybody personally with one I have seen some rave reviews on them. Just an idea

Sure, the Apex is a little cheaper, but the Shogun lets you tune Timing as well as fuel. And I think it will do a better job of timing control than the MSD BTM. With the Shogun tuning and the J&S for a safety net, it could be a good match. With the Apex unit, you would still have to have another unit for timing, and i would still want the J&S. Too bad Apex can't incorporate their timing controller and fuel controller into a single package.

Bout to purchase the 8lb pulley and have the BTM on the way...I was also wondering how to better tackle the fuel issue. Until I can aquire the other parts(Shogun/J&S), how does one setup the 8lb pulley with only the BTM. What setting for the regulator and BTM?

So is the 255 Liters/hours fuel pump that JR sells good enough to run 8 psi???????

What ever happened to that guy who was tweaking stock ECU's. I don't have the link, but B18C1's were going to be available soon.
Perhaps that modified ECU and the Shogun, the fuel can really be fine tuned?

The company is called Zdyne, and I have been talking to them about a OBD-I solution, and then maybe after that they can work on an OBD-II. The chip would allow you to remove the resistor-relay setup, and put in a better FPR. It would tune the fuel curve, and timing, and it is boost sensitive up to 10psi. This would be a great setup for those of us that have 6-10psi superchargers. If I can get them going on it, we may have a great "all-in-one" solution for our tuning needs in the near future.

Okay, I think the 255lph pump is more than adequate for the task. There are big V8's with less line-preassure than we are running. The key here is that we need better control. With computer-controlled injection events we could open or close the injectors to better suit our needs. With 270-310 injectors, the 255lph pump would be just fine if you could bypass the stock ECU's limitations on pulse-width. I did come up with another thought for my low-end bog down problem. WIth bigger injectors, and the stock fuel control setup, why not turn the preassure down, and then increase the size of the reisistor on the air temp sensor. That way, you would have more fuel on boost, when you need it, and less fuel off. It still wouldn't be perfect, but it might help!

I agree totally. I guess I was addressing the question in the context of the 8psi "upgrade" using stock injectors and the JR FPR.
I'm still thinking:
- B&M for off boost.
- Vortech SFMU
- 310cc injectors
- Maybe, multiple pressure switches and resistors that are applied at different boost levels.
Maybe try 35 - 40 psi at idle and configure the Vortech for a 3 or 4:1 rise rate for starters. The main problem is anticipating the boost and adding an extra shot of fuel initially, like the accelerator pump on a carb.
